Scissor & Glue, a surreal photo collage

In a world where little is new or original, Lola Dupre sets herself apart with her surreal collages. Dupré is an artist from Glasgow who takes pre-existing imagery from iconic historical and contemporary artists, as well as images of her friends and the people around her, she manipulates and warps familiar canvases to create new, bizarre images, sometimes scattered, other times contorted artworks that invoke both memories and new perspectives.

Her collages are all made by hand using only scissors and glue. She multiplies a photograph at various sizes, then cuts it by hand using the scissors and re-assembles the bits to reshape the image and create something new from ready-made color schemes and details of the image. Sometimes she combines several images for one piece and occasionally her works include pen and paint.
