Mark Whalen aka KillPixie has a distinctive aesthetic. Using acrylic and ink on paper atop resin coated handmade wooden boxes, Whalen plays creator to a futuristic candy colored universe inhabited by graphic masked characters, mythical animals, and structured landscapes. He creates a magical universe that reveal a humorous look into our contemporary society through themes of communication, sexuality, and ritual practices.
