“However, this is not the deeper meaning of suffering that we speak about in Buddhism. The suffering of change is identified as a type of suffering by many other spiritual traditions, too, and there are methods that are common to both Buddhist and non-Buddhist Indian traditions that allow the individual to recognize these experiences as suffering and to gain temporary freedom from it. These methods include various meditative techniques, the cultivation of absorptive states of mind, contemplations, and so on.”
