Daniel Hall‘s multi-format works are interesting to think about. He engages just the right amount of semblance between performative actions and deconstruction theory, re-rendering the things we so often take for granted by process of unraveling. With an eye for detail, his artworks remind me of a cube; clean, structural, orderly, contained, continuous and with engaging titles that speak on behalf of the work. I imagine he lives in a silver room. Here are some of my favorites from his 2009 collection:

an American Eagle sweater, manufactured in Vietnam, was unraveled by hand.

finishing nails were hammered into a small piece of wood until the point of near collapse.

a 42 inch by 10 yard roll of Strathmore drawing paper was cut down and reassembled into a new product.
