BBQ is a walking priestess spectacle bridging a portal between the new and the ancient, they are the mutation of traditional urbanism. In each NYC AAPI cultural community, BBQ will embody the identities of different spiritual and mythological Asian deities, Gods and folk heroes of relevance and reverence through a combination of transdisciplinary healing modalities such as hand made spirit masks, fleshmask (painted face), costumery, ritual, spiritual paraphernalia, natural artifacts and a traveling nomadic mobile vessel called “Mother Yurt”. Mother Yurt space invites different cultures, identities, communities and dreams into one unifying dome eradicating all social barriers.
