‘Self-Deception’ – a series of technically proficient graphite drawings by Gillian Lambert exploring the theme of beauty in the grotesque, the repulsive, the awkward, the vulnerable, and the psychologically enigmatic. I have always loved art that is created from the bare minimum tools of paper and pencil, it always packs a powerful punch. I especially lover her foil drawing below, her grasp of light, shadow, and space are beautiful.
