The worlds of fashion and photography often mix to create stunning works of art, but the ‘Dear America’ series curated by Zara incorporates landscape photography into the campaign in a whole new way. The Spanish retailer created the photo project to commemorate the launch of its new U.S. online store. Using the work of 50 photographers, each picture represents one of the American states from the point of view of someone who lives there, full of texture and landscapes and peaceful sights that undulate across the country.
My favorite shot is the ‘Dear North Carolina’ photo by Daniel Shea, with a row of trees in headlights, placed in forefront of something like a mountain scape. The trees almost look staged but the midnight sky backdrop immediately had me feeling nostalgic about camping in the Colorado Rockies.
