My sister, artist AnuJen and I collaborated summer 2021 to create BBQ’s debut music video. The video is featured in the 6th annual Supernova Digital Animation Festival as part of their “Bodies in Motion” program. All juried animations are being screened online and digital screens in downtown Denver throughout the month of September.
The Supernova Digital Animation Festival is fed each year through submissions received via FilmFreeway, focused specifically on artists utilizing digital tools as their primary focus to construct motion artwork and animation. On occasion a grouping of strong works emerges that associate with a particular theme or curatorial angle, and in 2021 Denver Digerati is pleased to have a new program: Bodies in Motion materialize from the pack. Works selected for this category often, but not exclusively, integrate a live presence that interfaces uniquely with digital constructions that increasingly embody the spirit of artistic collaboration in the digital age. Others simply dovetail into the theme in an expressive manner to further expand the boundaries of a category that has long been on our minds to see materialize. Both crowd pleasing, yet demanding, Bodies in Motion offers another distinct angle into the very heart and spirit of Supernova.
